Two weeks to go…

Let’s hope the four months’ training pays off! Malcolm and I have cycled thousands of miles by now but it never feels enough. I feel as fit and strong as I have ever been in my middle ages but a sixty mile cycle, such as the one we completed on Sunday (see image below), is not the same as the one hundred plus miles we are going to have to put in on consecutive days.

The fundraising has begun in earnest and we are already close to a £1,000. Thank you so much to those who have already donated – we don’t take anything for granted.

We also have to thank Katrina from The Guilty Cyclist in Crane Street, Chichester for her generosity both towards getting the bikes serviced but also for providing our nutritional supplements for the Roman Roads ride. She has been a star.

The next big ride coming up is around the Isle of Wight. Malcolm has done it before and says it can be punishing – perhaps I should have been left in the dark about the ordeal that awaits… but I’m really looking forward to the Isle of Wight. I may have become a cycling masochist.
